Khlong San MAKE: A Space to Create, Explore, and Thrive
Khlong San MAKE is a vibrant project by the Social Innovation Lab (CIS) and Knowledge Xchange (KX), executed through FabLab Bangkok in partnership with 10 schools in Khlong San and nearby areas. This initiative brings schools, communities, and individuals together to explore the world of hands-on innovation.

Khlong San MAKE provides access to state-of-the-art tools, including 3D printers and laser cutting machines, enabling participants to bring their ideas to life. Activities range from:
Digital Fabrication: Empowering teachers with advanced manufacturing skills to master tools like 3D printers and laser cutting machines. The program upskills educators, inspiring them to guide their students in creating projects that integrate product design, creative thinking, and engineering methods. This approach fosters a deeper understanding of innovation while encouraging students to turn their ideas into tangible solutions.
Product Design: Upskilling participants in engineering thinking and creativity to analyze problems and develop innovative solutions. The program emphasizes practicing interview sessions to gather insights from target users, enhancing real-world problem-solving skills. Through hands-on projects, participants engage in educational tool creation, project-based learning, and the design process, fostering a comprehensive understanding of design thinking and practical application.
Leatherwork: Upskilling participants in leather crafting techniques, including creating leather bags and designing patterns suitable for commercialization. The program incorporates insights into current leather fashion trends, equipping participants with the knowledge and skills to craft stylish, market-ready products.
Programming Skills: Upskilling participants through a low-code platform like Scratch to develop basic games while fostering foundational programming skills. The program also introduces embedded systems for innovation, focusing on integrating sensors to create interactive and functional hardware solutions.
Sustainable Design: Promoting eco-conscious practices by upcycling waste plastic into fashionable bags. Participants learn techniques to transform discarded materials into stylish, functional products while staying updated on the latest bag and pattern trends, merging sustainability with modern design.
